Chemiresistor semiconductors detect target molecules in small concentrations, and molecular imprinting, or selective doping, during the formation process ensures never-before-seen accuracy. Binding of the target molecule to the semiconductor blocks electrical current, which generates a signal to the digital application. In layman's terms, when molecules targeted by the test are detected, they attach to a measuring agent to display an easily interpretable and measurable result on the testing device.
